Viewpoints Sampler
Grades 5-8
Each 10 week course explores three different foreign languages and cultures. With plenty of hands-on crafts and language skill development Viewpoints A samples Latin, Hindi, and French while Viewpoints B explores German, Spanish, and Japanese. These courses are considered social studies with a language twist!
Intro to Spanish
Grades 6-9
Not sure if your student wants to study Spanish or if they are ready for an Honors level Spanish class? Come get a head start on my high school course while still having lots of fun with crafts and other hands-on activities! This 20 week course receives .5 transcript credit and builds language skills necessary for success both in English and in foreign language study.
Spanish 1 Honors
Grades 8-11
Students begin the formal study of Spanish. This class is targeted to native English speakers to learn the fundamental mechanics of speaking, listening, writing, and reading another language. Cultural elements are woven throughout the course. All learning types are welcome in this accelerated 30 week course which earns 1.5 transcript credits.
Spanish 2 Honors
Grades 9-12
This 30 week accelerated course encourages native English speakers to use what they have learned about Spanish in creative ways to earn 1.5 transcript credits. Skills in speaking, listening, writing, and reading Spanish are practiced along with exploring a variety of Hispanic cultural elements. All learning types are encouraged to join us in gaining confidence and having fun!
Spanish 3 Honors
Grades 10-12
This 30 week accelerated course is designed to break down the fundamentals of grammar for native Spanish speakers while building confidence for native English speakers in using the Spanish language on a regular basis. Offering 1.5 transcript credits students will look in more detail at all Hispanic cultures around the world while practicing more complex language structures. A variety of learning methods are offered to increase interest, processing, and connection!
